At Alarm Clocks Online, we try to provide as much information
about our products as we can. We are often asked about
the loudness of the alarms on our clocks. We began
running tests on our clocks are are posting the decibel levels
on the clock detail page as we complete the
tests.
Our tests are run using an Extech
Instruments 407706 Analog Sound Level Meter from a
distance of 1 foot from the clock (simulating a close distance
to a nightstand.). For windups, we are
also including the time of the alarm ring with a full winding.
Below is a chart showing comparative decibel
levels for sounds most of us are familiar with in our daily
activities.
