Stock
No.VINT966
It
was not widely known, but beginning in the 1930s General Time
Corporation owned both Westclox and the Seth Thomas Clock
Company. During the 30s, 40s and 50s, Seth Thomas
produced a series of clocks in wooden cases that used a
Westclox Baby Ben movement. These are popular clocks
among collectors of both Westclox and Seth Thomas. This
is a model called the "Deft 3". It has a
walnut case and beige dial with brass trim. This
particular clock was owned by someone named "F. Hinkelman".
The initials "FH" are inscribed in the lower part of
the wooden case on the back, and the last name is inscribed on
the rear bell cover. As with all Baby Bens of the time,
this has a loud/soft adjustment for the alarm.
